Lifeline is a federal program designed to assist low-income subscribers with the cost of telephone or broadband internet services. This reoccurring annual benefit can provide eligible households with a monthly discount of up $34.25 per month, plus additional credit for any necessary installation fees.

Who is Eligible?

You may be eligible if anyone in your household receives, qualifies for or participates in:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Medicaid
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance
  • Supplemental Security Income
  • Veterans and Survivors Pension Fund
  • Certain Tribal Programs

Other ways to qualify: You may still qualify if you earn less than the 135% of the Poverty Guideline Levels.

How to Apply?

Start saving with the Lifeline program by following these two easy steps:

Step 1:

Verify your eligibility and apply online to receive you benefit by visiting Lifelinesupport.org

Step 2:

Contact BTC Broadband at (918) 366-8000 with your National Verifier application ID to select an eligible phone or internet plan and have the discount applied.

Eligible households must both apply for the program and contact BTC Broadband to select a internet service plan. The Lifeline benefit is non-transferable and limited to one monthly discount per household.

What is Lifeline?

Lifeline is a government assistance program that helps make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers.

How do I keep my Lifeline Benefit?

Every year, you must show you still qualify. If the National Verifier cannot confirm you qualify, you will receive a letter in the mail and may also receive reminders by mail or pre-recorded messages on your phone. If you are asked to recertify, you must do so within 60 days, or you will lose your Lifeline benefit.

Can I get the Lifeline benefit on both internet and phone service?

You can only use the Lifeline benefit on either your phone or internet service.

What happens if I don't use my phone or internet service while on the Lifeline program?

If your Lifeline service is free, you must use it at least once every 30 days to maintain your service. If you don’t, you will get a 15-day notice to use it or it will get turned off.

Do I qualify for Lifeline if I'm already a ACP customer?

Yes. If you are currently enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, you can use that to qualify for Lifeline and receive the benefits simultaneously.
