Bixby Telephone Company is proud to be the first to implement the “Make It Happen” downtown Bixby revitalization plan. Ninety years ago, the telephone company originally was located in a small frame two-story house at the same location as the building today. The upstairs was the manager’s living quarters and downstairs housed the telephone company office. Over time, the current building evolved by combining three buildings.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience while we are under construction and we’re excited about the part BTC can play in revitalizing and updating Old Town Bixby,” said Jerry Kite, Executive VP and General Manager.
The recently poured concrete sidewalks with “old Chicago brick style”imprint will accent downtown’s new post-Italian renaissance look. Bixby Telephone’s exterior renovation will include a clock tower, carriage lights, and blue canvas canopies.
BTC’s new office at 111th and Memorial, next to Chili’s Restaurant, is also under construction. Customers will soon be able to visit the new location on Memorial or continue to conduct business at the downtown office upon the new office’s completion late this year.
